ISC2 Quantico has Best Wishes as Mahsa Zarabi begins an exciting college career.

Scholarship 2023-2024 Winner - Mahsa Zarabi

Mahsa Zarabi came to the United States in August 2021, soon after the Taliban took over her hometown of Kabul, Afghanistan. It was a scary time for her because she was unexpectedly separated from her family at the airport where everyone was trying to evacuate. She had a long and arduous journey on her own as a 16 year old, going through a refugee camp, children's shelter, and eventually to a Marine Corps foster family in Quantico. She always wanted to study computers, and cybersecurity has always most fascinated her. She worked very hard to get excellent grades in high school while working full-time in order to support her family. They eventually were evacuated by the State Department 21 months later, and they are still dependent on her financial support as they make a new life here in Northern Virginia. Mahsa graduated high school in May of 2024 with a 3.9 GPA. She was accepted into George Mason University, where she'll study Cybersecurity Engineering beginning this fall. This scholarship support has meant the world to her, as she was determined to not let her dreams go unrealized. Thank you for believing in this young woman and helping make her dreams possible.
