From the Presidents Corner - December 2025
To allow us all to focus on family, friends, travel and reflection for the holiday season, the ISC2QC Chapter Officers
have voted to not hold a membership meeting for December.
Since there will be no December meeting and our next meeting will be in January 2026, I wanted to take a moment
to reflect on 2025.
This year, we focused on multi-part single topic Presentations during our monthly meetings. Our focus this year was
on Zero Trust and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
We have had both live and pre-recorded presentations this year, I’m sure that we all agree that the 3 live
presentations on the topic of AI by Jonathan Harber (Our Chapter Director) were a highlight. Even the thought-
provoking discussion on Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI).
A more recent highlight was the presentation by Shawn Loveland, the Chief Operations Officer of Resecurity.com,
our ISC2 Quantico Chapter Platinum Sponsor. Shawn’s presentation provided an overview of Cyber Threat
Intelligence (CTI) and was well received.
During elections last year our current Treasurer and previous Chapter President, Joseph Irr, has restructured and
streamlined Chapter documentation and processes. The timing works well for next year; ISC2 is making a new
common system available to all Chapters, reducing overall Chapter costs. In addition, our Chapter website
isc2quanticochapter.org website has been updated and restructured to enhance navigation and content by Joe.
The 2025 election resulted in us gaining a new Chapter Secretary. As Secretary, Machelle Shivers has proven to be a
great addition to our Chapter Leadership. She has enhanced the documentation of Quantico Chapter operations and
overall planning and organization.
Through the efforts of our Chapter Membership Officer Leroy Gutierez, we have gained a new Sponsor. Arcfield has
become a Gold Sponsor of our Chapter.
At our January 2026 meeting, nominations for all ISC2 Quantico Chapter Leadership positions will be discussed. We
will have Annual Elections at our February meeting. A brief description of each position appears at the bottom of
this message. Additional information regarding any of the positions can be found on the Chapter website. Contact
any Chapter Officer if you would like to consider being an officer. We encourage new members to participate as
officers. The time commitment is minimal, you earn extra CPEs, our officer positions and workflows are very
organized and well managed. You may learn organizational skills which will help you in your career.
Finally, I would like to thank the Quantico Chapter Officers and Director for all they do behind the scenes, their
dedication to IT Security, their efforts to make our Chapter operate effectively and doing it while making it all fun.
Happy Holidays and Enjoy the time with Loved Ones.
Respectfully,
Kenn Gregory
(ISC)2 Quantico Chapter
President
